Seabass Cycles was established in 2013 with the opening of the Camberwell shop in London SE5. The driving force was to open a bicycle shop that we would like to go to as a customer, and one that would appeal to all kinds of cyclists. We envisioned a shop with unbiased views on particular types of bike or style of riding, and a workshop that could cater for everyone from the carbon-riding athlete to the person who rides a clunky squeaker to the pub and back.
We have worked in various bicycle shops as mechanics and as shop floor staff since our early teens, and have seen the industry grow and change throughout the times. Those years of hands-on experience within the bicycle world have given us an invaluable insight into what makes a good bike shop.
We are happy to go that extra mile to get the best results, and enjoy building relationships with our customers.

At Seabass Cycles we have an extensive selection of bicycles and frames ranging from the sixties to present day. We have cupboards, boxes and cabinets full of components. We can custom build bikes with period groupsets or with new high end modern components. All of our wheels are built in house by experienced wheel builders.
Our decision to focus on selling traditional, handmade, steel frame bikes was due to their quality and charm but also to their durability and versatility. Due to the strong but forgiving steel, they make great racing bikes but are also perfect for commuting. Traditional steel frame bikes and their components were made to last, unlike many of the bikes that are manufactured and sold today.
Seabass Cycles participate in the Cycle to Work Scheme.
The Cycle to Work Scheme is a government legislation that allows you to save up to 42% on your new bike and safety equipment and spread the cost via monthly payments. Click the link to find out more. www.cyclescheme.co.uk
A good set of wheels is one of the most important parts of your bicycle. Having come from a history of riding dirt jumps, BMX, MTB, 4X and navigating the roads of London, we believe that building wheels by hand is the best way to ensure they are as strong, fast and as reliable as possible. Although all of our mechanics are trained to do this, our team includes two highly experienced wheel builders who share a combined total of over six thousand wheel builds and 40+years work in the industry. They have built wheels for professional cycling teams, freestyle Bmx, Motocross and everything in between.
We currently sponsor Road, Track and Cyclo-cross team The 5th Floor, who we have designed and built multiple wheel sets for. By working with their diverse team of riders from all disciplines of cycling we've been able to learn the best ways of building wheels to meet different requirements and riding styles. Selecting the right individual components for the job is paramount.
Having access to some of the leading manufacturers and their products enables us to design and build the best wheels for you.
Labour Prices start from £30 per wheel.
